Have you ever wondered, How many Types of Body shapes for men exist? Do you know How to find your body shape? If you have all these questions in mind then this is the article for you.

Like women, men also have variations in their bodies. Some men would have a longer and a wider torso while some would have a heavier midriff and others might have longer limbs. These variations lead to different types of body shapes for men which can be countered by intelligent use of clothes.

So, If you are somebody who’s fond of dressing well and looking good then knowing your body shape can really be a game changer for you.

Because this will help you make better clothes selection for yourself, clothes that actually look good on you and work for you.

Primarily, there are 6 body shapes for men and the rest are a combination of these 6.

We have many people asking that which is the ideal male body shape. Well, a simple answer to this question is that an ideal body shape is one that is an inverted triangle with broad shoulders and thinner waist. Here, we are not talking about an extreme width but something that is moderate. A good example of an ideal body shape is actor Abhay Deol.

1. Triangular Body Shape

2. Inverted Triangle Body Shape

3. Rectangle Body Shape

How to find your Body Shape: When you have similar width in shoulders, waist, hips and thighs.

4. Diamond Body Shape

How to find your Body Shape: When you have narrower shoulders and hips but a wider waist.

5. Rounded Body Shape

How to find your Body Shape: When you have a larger figure with rounded body lines.

Examples: Ram Kapoor, Kevin James, Kiku Sharda

6. Tubular Body Shape

How to find your Body Shape: When the structure is very thin or slim, with equal width in shoulders, waist and hips.

Examples: Vijay Raaz

An important thing, we need to understand here is that though the basic body structure remains same, weight gain or weight loss can make you move between different body shapes. For eg: If you are somebody lean then with exercises and diet, you can move to being an inverted triangle. Similarly, if you have a prominent midriff, with exercises and diet, you can be a rectangle or a diamond.

But even if not, your clothes can greatly help you create preferrable or ideal male body shapes, something that we will discuss in another article.
